MARIA ISABEL SANTIAGO RAMOS, ESQ. LLM.
Mrs. Santiago Ramos holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts with a specialization in Public Relations and Advertising, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Puerto Rico. She also obtained a Juris Doctor Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the School of Law of the University of Puerto Rico. Ms. Santiago Ramos obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in International and European Law from the University of Antwerp in Belgium.
During her Law School studies Mrs. Santiago was the treasurer and class representative of the Law School Student Council (CEED). As part of her accomplishments, she won the 2012 University of Puerto Rico Law Review Nilita Vientos Gastón writing competition and the 2014 University of Puerto Rico XX Intramural Debate competition Miguel Velázquez Rivera. As well, she focused her academic and legal investigations in corporate and real estate matters. She wrote several articles in relation to Piercing the Corporate veil doctrine, a Comparative analysis of Non Profit Corporations and Trusts; Analysis of Security Agreements and constitution of the secured interest in Puerto Rico and accountability of Multinational Corporations towards Human Rights violation on transnational scenarios.
Mrs. Santiago Ramos has worked as a Litigation Counsel for the firm Guzmán & Rodríguez López and as a Law Clerk for the firm of García Arregui & Fullana. Currently she manages a variety of legal issues that arise from business transactions and specialized legal services in corporate and real estate matters such as: insuring corporate compliance, proper form of business entity analysis, business development plans, start-ups legal analysis, contractual agreements analysis and drafting.
