Mrs. Castro obtained a BA from the Sagrado Corazon University and a Juris Doctor from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, School of Law in 2002.
Mrs. Castro worked at the Department of Justice of PR, as a member of The Civil Rights Legal Task Force, a specialized unit that manages civil rights, political discrimination and institutional reform cases for the Department of Justice of Puerto Rico. She was responsible of preparing interrogatories, motions, briefs, prepare for and conducted depositions, reviewed files, deliberate strategies, review briefs/pleadings, conduct legal research, conduct extensive client interviews and assist in trial preparation; represent a diverse group of government employees in federal litigation of civil rights claims. Conducted interviews with clients and developed trial strategy based on client needs. Perform legal research, authored briefs and motions, conducted depositions and consistently achieved favorable results for clients including favorable verdicts.
Mrs. Castro has concentrated her practice managing all phases of federal litigation of civil rights claims, performing legal research, briefs and motions, conducting depositions, extensive client interviews and trial preparation. Deliberate litigation strategies according to the specific needs of each case. She has vast experience performing extensive research and preparation of trial memoranda and briefs to support pleadings in commercial, civil and banking cases on both federal and state courts.
She also worked as the Legal Division Director in the “Administración de Servicios de Salud Mental y Contra la Adicción” (ASSMCA). She was responsible for providing high quality, strategic and practical legal advice to ASSMCA. Analyze and interpret complex legislation, prepare briefing papers, drafting of contracts, provide legal representation in State and Administrative Forums and supervise a team of 7, including Attorneys and the Contract’s Office.
Is an active member in Puerto Rico Bar and Notary Public Bar; Federal Bar for the District of Puerto Rico and United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
